211: You can call 211 to request to be added to their rent assistance waiting list or use their online database to search for rent assistance here. The rent assistance waiting list opens intermittently and fills up quickly, so if you can’t be added the first time you reach out, ask when the list will reopen and follow up then.

Portland Water Bureau Bill Discount Program: Portland Water Bureau customers with incomes below 60% of the Portland area median family income (ex. $67,680 for a family of four) and who live in single-family homes may qualify for a monthly discount on their bill. Portland Water Bureau Crisis Voucher: For customers already enrolled in the financial assistance program, a credit on their bill may be available once a year if they are experiencing a temporary crisis. Learn more here.
Rockwood Water Financial Assistance Program: Rockwood’s financial assistance program may provide one-time crisis assistance to qualifying customers. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply here.
City of Gresham Water Assistance Program: City of Gresham offers a utility assistance program for Gresham residents up to once a year. Applicants with incomes at or below 50% of the median family income are prioritized although applicants with other extenuating circumstances may be considered. Assistance applies to single-family homes and prorated or limited funds may be available for duplex, triplex, and multi-family residences. Learn more about eligibility and apply here.

Oregon Food Bank Food Finder: Find free groceries, meals, or places to double SNAP benefits near you here. Food banks are a great way for union members and working people to access supplement food costs when they’re experiencing hardship because many food banks don’t income qualify, so it can be there for you when you need it regardless of income.
Oregon SNAP Online Application: Apply for food benefits through the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) online here or visit your local Department of Human Services (DHS) office to apply in person.
