Labor Dispute & Strike Solidarity Support

Labor's Community Service Agency (LCSA) stands in solidarity with union members and their families during labor disputes. While LCSA does not provide direct financial assistance from its own funds during strikes, we can support unions and their members through food coordination, resource navigation, and the administration of union-funded strike assistance programs.
Support Available Through LCSA
Food Support
Coordination of food boxes, food donations, water, and other essential supplies for striking members and their families, including support at strike lines when resources and capacity allow.
Resource Navigation
Guidance and connections to community resources that may be available to union members and their families during a strike, including food assistance, housing resources, utility assistance, and other essential services.
Referral Programs (Union Strike Funds)
LCSA may be able to partner with unions to administer financial assistance programs using funds provided by the participating union specifically for strike-related support.
Through an established referral process, these funds may help eligible members with housing, utilities, food, and other essential expenses, subject to the union's program guidelines and applicable regulations.
Please note: The availability of these services depends on LCSA's staffing capacity, existing program commitments, and seasonal event schedules. Advance coordination is strongly encouraged.
Important Notes on Financial Assistance
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, LCSA must comply with applicable IRS regulations and restrictions governing charitable funds.
LCSA's Helping Hands hardship program does not provide direct financial assistance to members participating in full, economic, or unfair labor practice strikes.
LCSA does not allocate its general operating funds, charitable donations, or Helping Hands resources toward strike-related financial assistance.
Financial assistance during a strike must be funded by the participating union. When an appropriate administrative arrangement is established, LCSA may coordinate and distribute those designated funds on the union's behalf, subject to applicable laws and organizational policies.
